Our Sahara Desert Adventure 7-Day give you the possibility to experience the contrast of the iconic cityscapes of Marrakech and Essaouira with the Draa Valley, remote Saharan dunes and mountains. We run our Morocco photography tour during the period of the new moon to maximise opportunities for night photography.
Traversing the Sahara Desert varies with the chosen path, transportation method, and journey aims. A straightforward crossing could span from a few days to two weeks, influenced by distance, terrain, and weather.
A typical Sahara trek might range from several days to weeks or months, depending on the journey’s extent.
For a rewarding Sahara experience, a visit of at least a few days to a week is recommended, allowing time to explore the environment, partake in activities like camel rides or hikes, and experience the local culture.
The best time for a Sahara visit is from October to April, when temperatures are cooler and more suitable for outdoor activities.

DAY 1: CASABLANCA TO RABAT AND FES
Our Sahara Desert Adventure 7-Day start at your hotel in Casablanca. Then we explore the main sights including the Hassan II mosque. We explore the imperial city town of Rabat which is also capital. The tour includes visit of Mausoleum of Mohammad V and Kasbah des Oudaias. You will visit best of Meknes including famous Bab Mansour Gate and local medina – old part. We explore also Volubilis on the way to Fes where we stay in a traditional Moroccan riad.
DAY 2: EXPLORE FES
Today we explore Fes in a guided excursion to visit medina (the old city) as all the main touristic attractions are located right around here. We explore Jardin Jnan Sbil, then Bou Inania Medersa and famous place “Bab Boujloud”. We stay overnight at local Fez riad.
DAY 3: TRAVEL FROM FES TOWARDS SAHARA DESERT IN MERZOUGA
Our Morocco 7 days tour from Casablanca continues to visit Ifrane in Middle Atlas mountain and we drive through few Berber villages. You will watch apes in the cedar forest, we stop in Midelt we explore the Ziz valley, you may purchase souvenirs from fossil shop in Erfoud and we visit the local souk in Rissani. We finish today in Merzouga desert local hotel with dinner.
DAY 4: SAHARA EXCURSION AND CAMEL RIDE
Today we enjoy Merzouga desert excursion. We explore dunes around the village of Khamlia where we stop to listen to famous Gnawa music. Then on to Hassilabiad Nomad museum and you will have a cool time to meet Nomads living in Sahara desert. Later afternoon we prepare for a camel ride to the desert in Sahara leaded by an experienced camel guide. It will take about 1 hour to reach the camp where you spend the night. We watch the sunset in Merzouga and you will have traditional Berber dinner served at the camp and then we enjoy listening to music drums.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA DESERT – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY
Today our Casablanca Imperial cities and the desert tour continue after sunrise in Merzouga and we drive to Rissani, we reach Tinghir to visit Kanyon of Todra gorges. We enjoy a short hike in narrow Kanyon very famous for rock climbers. You visit Dades gorges where we stay overnight in local riad with dinner and breakfast.
DAY 6: DADES GORGES – OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU – Marrakech
On our private 7days tour from Casablanca we explore best of Dades valley, then Kalaat Mgouna – famous “valley of roses”. You explore local Ouarzazate cinema studio, where famous movies were shot including Gladiator. You will also enjoy a personal tour of the nearby kasbah in Ait Benhaddou. It is the most visited Unesco site in Morocco. We continue via Tizi n’tichka Pass to Marrakech.
DAY 7 : GUIDED TOUR IN MARRAKECH CITY
We enjoy day excursion in Marrakech with a local guide. The city offers the best museums and galleries, gardens and attractions. We explore the medina, Jamma el Fna square, the new part of Gueliz, Koutoubia mosque and many more. End of your Sahara Desert Adventure 7-Day
