As you step off the plane in Casablanca, the vibrant energy of Morocco surrounds you. The airport bustles with travelers from around the world, and the warm desert breeze carries the scent of spices and sea salt. You’re immediately greeted by the diverse culture and rich history of this enchanting city.
After clearing customs, you make your way to your accommodation, eager to start your adventure. Along the way, you catch glimpses of the city’s iconic landmarks, from the Hassan II Mosque with its towering minaret to the bustling streets lined with colorful markets and cafes.
We start a new day and we will pick up you at the hotel and we drive towards Rabat – the capital, where we visit the main sights. The next stop is Meknes, which is a very important historical and cultural city. When we finish our visit to Roman ruins-Volubilis and afterward we drive to Fes where we stay overnight in a local traditional riad/hotel.
On the third day of our trip. Our guided tour starts by visiting the medina (the old city) in Fez and we explore the medina by walking inside its alleys. A guided tour in Fez includes also a visit to the Jewish Quarter and also the Royal Palace. We will visit the famous tanneries in Fez. Therefore we visit the Quaraouine mosque which is considered the 1st university in the world. Overnight in local riad/hotel.
Today we travel towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We may stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the cedar forest. We will have lunch in Midelt and afterward, we’ll drive along the Ziz valley. We’ll pass through few Berber villages to reach Erfoud and then Rissani. Then we arrive at Merzouga desert where we stay in a local riad/hotel.
Around 10:00 you drive to the village of Khamlia. These people came from Sudan. You will meet some families and enjoy mint tea with them and listen to traditional gnaoua music.
Our next stop will be at Mfis, a small village to the south-east of the dunes, close to the coal and copper mines where most of the people in Merzouga used to make their livings.
Then, after a further stop in Merdane village, we carry on to meet Berber families before driving back to Merzouga to check-in at your hotel.
In the afternoon, you will mount your camel to cross the dunes and discover one of the secrets of the ‘sea of sand’. Our stop will be in a virgin oasis. Enjoy the silence of the desert, appreciate the natural beauty surrounding you and watch the majestic sunset.
Spend the evening under a canopy of stars, twinkling with an intensity you may never have seen before. Sleep in traditional Berber tents.
Early in the morning, we will watch the sunrise in the desert of Merzouga and then we ride camels back to the village of Merzouga and after breakfast, we leave for Rissani. We drive towards Tinghir. Then we explore Todra gorges and Dades valley. Here we stay in Dades gorges in traditional local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.
Today we drive through the Dades valley towards Ouarzazate passing the route of the 1000’s Kasbahs. We will stop at Kalaat Mgouna which is the center of roses valley. Here we may purchase rosewater, which is a local famous product made from roses. We will visit the Ouarzazate movie studio, and also the local kasbah in the city. We continue to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, built by one of the last Berber chieftains. Our trip continues by passing Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass at 2260 m. Then we arrive in Marrakech.
Today we enjoy exploring Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”. We will visit the most important sites of historical and cultural interest. It will include the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace. We will explore famous Jamma el Fna square and in the afternoon, we will have a free program.
